Project Fair

RAC Kharkiv Mriya, „Rotary Health“, planned rehabilitation center

Rotaract Club Kharkiv Mriya in association with the Сommunity Organisation of Rehabilitologists, the Charitable Fundation „PROSPEROUS UKRAINE STARTS WITH YOU!“ and the Kharkiv Rotary Club Mriya announces the start of the project, within the framework of which it is planned to create a rehabilitation center „ROTARY HEALTH“. The purpose of which is to provide free rehabilitation services to people who suffered from crimes against humanity, namely 264 full-fledged physical therapy courses and additionally providing psychological rehabilitation courses.

The relevance of urgent creation of the „ROTARY HEALTH“ Physical and Psychological Rehabilitation Center lies in the fact that after the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, a significant increase in appeals from Ukrainians with certain health problems was recorded, and at the same time there is a catastrophic lack of specialists who can provide qualified assistance by a multidisciplinary team. There are no such centers in eastern Ukraine, but the concentration of those in need of help is the highest in that region. Therefore, the creation of the Center in Kharkiv is logical and very relevant. Having constant direct contact with the population of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region, with representatives of the State Emergency Service, the Red Cross, local authorities, and being first-hand witnesses of rocket attacks on civilian objects in our city many times, we are more than anyone aware of the large number of people’s needs for physical and psychological rehabilitation.

We are sure that we have the human, methodological and organizational resources to create and support the further functioning of the newly created center. We have strong arguments for this:
– in the staff of the Center, we already have highly qualified specialists with unique results and success stories in the recovery and rehabilitation of patients;
– we have strong connection with target audience, as we have direct and constant contact with community organization „All-Ukrainian Union of Veterans“, within the framework of which we have already started working with a target audience and create conditions for the future employment of veterans (which recognized as a global problem in Ukraine).
– we signed a memorandum with the National University of Pharmacy (department of rehabilitation and health), where we agreed about cooperation, within the framework of which the university will refer students to us for internships, as well as graduates for further employment. After our internships, we will have the new generation of highly qualified specialists, the lack of which is currently felt in Ukraine. There are specialists of a similar level abroad, but, firstly, 1 course of rehabilitation costs more than 1.5 thousand euros, that sum is unreal for most of those, who is in need and secondly, it will not give the positive influece on Ukrainian economy, that is already exhausted by the war.
Charitable Organization „Charitable Fundation“ PROSPEROUS UKRAINE STARTS WITH YOU!“ provides premises for the opening of the Center and undertakes the financing of the Center’s work during the first 6 months of its existence. All that remains is the need for the necessary equipment and inventory that will ensure full-fledged work.

In the case of grant support for the purchase of equipment, the Center will be able to conduct 10 classes per day, 220 classes per month and 2640 per year, which is about 264 full-fledged rehabilitation courses per year, and we intend to scale up and develop new specialists. Through our efforts, we have already started providing rehabilitation assistance to war victims within the framework of the FIZIO-AID joint project.
