RC Dnipro Novyi | Supporting „Special“ Children

About the Project:

There are 169 children with mental disorders studying in the educational institution „Educational Rehabilitation Center „Horlytsia“ of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council“. Many of them are characterized by complex disorders – in addition to intellectual disorders, they have defects of vision, hearing, musculoskeletal system. Among them are children with disabilities, orphans and children deprived of parental care. Fox orphans, the institution became a home that replaced family warmth and care.
Today, when the grueling war continues in the country, the institution does not have the opportunity to accept its students for face-to-face training, due to the lack of the simplest shelter in the center. Daily alerts about air raids, the constant threat of rocket attacks make it vital to be equipped in a bomb shelter.

The presence of the simplest shelter in the institution would allow children to return to the conditions in which their specialization takes place, for the arrangement of a civil protection facility (the simplest shelter) it is necessary:

• diesel generator with a capacity of 50-60 kW (2 pcs)
• primary fire extinguishing means (4 pcs)
• first aid kits, a router, places to sit (benches, chairs for 100 people)
• boi-toilets (3 pcs)
• containers for food and drinking water
• folding orthopedic bed on slats with mattress and headrest (10 pcs.)
• tourist boxes (40 pcs.)
• removable tanks that close tightly (3 pcs.)
• reserve artificial lighting (electric lanterns, lamps)
• means of providing medical assistance, means of communication
• chance tools (bayonet shovels, shovels, crowbars, axes, saw, hacksaw for wood and metal)
• electric stove, filters for water purification based on 169 students;

The implementation of this project will provide orphans and children deprived of parental care, children with disabilities, with complex and complex developmental disabilities, with disabilities of the musculoskeletal system, cerebral palsy, with difficult movement, the consequences of war injuries, the opportunity to receive rehabilitation services, and possibly one of the American families will save the child’s life and adopt him into his family! And so this is a project with the hope of an American miracle!!
