PROMIN REHABILITATION CENTER

For more than 20 years Rotary club “Kharkiv” has been taking care of “Kharkiv City Center for complex Rehabilitation for persons with Disabilities “Promin”.
The main goal of the Center is to improve or reproduce life, social rehabilitation, adaptation and return to full-fledged life of children with disabilities and persons with disabilities of childhood with physical or mental disabilities who are in difficult life circumstances and need outside help.
The work of the Center is aimed at: Creating a network of social, pedagogical, medical and labor rehabilitation, in order to ensure the adaptation of children with disabilities and persons with disabilities of childhood to society.
Tasks of existence and purpose of the center:
– development of available opportunities in the team and through the collective in a person with disabilities;
– preparation of persons with disabilities for an independent lifestyle and their integration into society;
– training parents to work with children with disabilities, providing them with psychological and information assistance.

For 20 years, the Rotary club „Kharkiv“ has carried out a very large work and provided assistance in all areas of the center, namely:
– assistance in the repair of premises, replacement of heating, equipping children’s, sports and training rooms;
– financial assistance in creating a local network with access to the Internet, deployed Wi-Fi network, laid the basis for video surveillance to ensure the safe stay of pets in the Center;
– purchased and transferred to the needs of the Center wheelchairs, boiler, modern energy-saving electric stove, designed specifically for children’s educational and educational institutions;
– the minibus has been repaired, so there is an opportunity to bring children to rehabilitation programs and excursions;
– transferred laptop for teachers, educators, creation of educational and methodical material;
– help in the presentation of creative works of the Center’s pupils at various events and platforms.
On a regular basis, the Club members visit the Center and its pupils for the holidays, of course, with useful gifts and sweets.
Many of the Center’s pupils are children with very serious mental health disorders and musculoskeletal system. But there are also children with retained intelligence, or not significant violations, which have kept the opportunity to learn and learn the material. It is very important for such children not only to maintain their condition but also to develop.

In the modern world, with the help of a computer and Internet, you can not only communicate with a large number of people, learn a lot of new things, but also have a job.

So mastering computer literacy, the ability to print texts, use the network, the ability to work with a variety of programs is very relevant for people who are not able to perform physical work.
So, in the project “ Promin „, more than 20 years, it is time to implement a new stage:
1. purchase of computer equipment in the amount of 5 units;
2. acquisition of a multimedia projector for classes and organization of educational work;
3. acquisition of a file server to save teaching materials.
Purpose: Technical support of training students of the correctional center of computer literacy, which in the future will provide an opportunity to get a number of professions such as a computer operator, copywriter, manager in an online store, an expert in the field of IT and others.
